The Pocket Zine Project

As a member of the Elizabeth Gardens Creative Collective, I am participating in the inaugural community Art Walk. On August 28 2021, I will embark on my most recent learning adventure - The Pocket Zine Project. This project is inspired by my lifelong interest in the written word, picture books, artist publications and handmade things.

I'll be outside sharing my creative inspirations and explorations in this new-to-me medium with visitors by folding, drawing, and collaging as many zines as I can in one day. Visitors are invited to browse some of my work and to visit The Pocket Zine Project art station where they can try their hand at making some zines of their own.

What is a zine?
A zine (pronounced zeen) is simply a handmade publication.  A pocket (or mini) zine is a small, portable, easy to make publication using a single sheet of paper and a some imagination.
